Skills, techniques and information

Many of my sewing and craft skills are self-taught with the help of online tutorials generously shared by a worldwide community of crafters and artisans (as well as a lot of practise). I hope to pay this forward here because I deeply believe in the importance of keeping these skills alive in the world. There are lots of resources out there already, but sometimes the way a different person explains something can make a difference so it's always worth adding to the knowledge base.

I hope you find something useful here.

Making conversation

Sorry, pun intended! I hope to gradually add articles here intended to clarify some of the often confusing or less visible aspects of the textiles and apparel systems we are all part of if we wear clothes (even if we make them ourselves).

Chemicals and processes

Lots of textiles undergo chemical treatments - how might these affect people and planet during their use and what might be on your skin right now
